Destroying TWebBrowser: I want my memory back!

i'm writing an application with a splash screen containing a runtime created TWebBrowser-component.
In the FormCreate of the form i create the WebBrowser:
//TBrowser is just the TWebBrowser.Create + sets dimensions
Webbrowser1 := TBrowser.Create(nil);
//following is needed because 'parent' of TWebBrowser is readonly
self.InsertControl(WebBrowser1);
After hiding the splash screen i want to destroy the browser because it takes a lot of memory (following located in buttonclick-event handler):
self.RemoveControl(WebBrowser1);
WebBrowser1.Free;
After this i figured i had back the memory that was used by WebBrowser1.
But the memory-use doesn't change :(

Does anybody know what's causing this? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help
