Querries for MVS Assembley code

Hello HI



I have some querries regarding the MVS Assembly code can you please help me out



The code is :



B$TAB DATUM,(W1DATU)



I am not able to understand what does the B$TAB means here DATUM is a subprogram and W1DATU is a variable declared

of lenght 6.


Can you kindly try to solve my problem As this is very Urgent .

  • The opcode B$TAB must be a macro (unless

    there a new 390 instructions that I don't know

    about ...). If you look for your SYSLIB dd card

    when you do your assemlby, you will see one

    or more partitioned datasets. If you view the

    members of these datasets, there will be one

    member named B$TAB. If you go ahead and

    read that member, you will see how it is coded.

    It is probably a specialized "CALL" of sorts.

    If the macro isn't in your SYSLIB list, then you

    will get an assembly error.
