hello, I'm desperate to split files in ms-dos, I know how to join them: "copy /b file_1+file_2+file_3... rejoined_file", but is there a way to do the opposite with dos commands ?, if NOT then microsoft really amazes me !!! thanks, and goodbye.

    look for SPLIT514.ZIP
Old DOS file splitter I've used for years.
    It works great.

Yep, but DOS OS might have it in there some where ?
I just never could make it through the whole manual/manuals.
OS systems have a tendancy to load stuff into memory,
and to cover all the things a person could want/use
there wouldn't be any memory left for a program.

I would like to see an OS that has little stand alone programs
to cover those special needs, even user initiated TSR packages,
then allow the user/programer to have total access to all the memory
    that the computer owner bought.
Now as it is, it's like somebody stole all the memory I paid good money for !
    AND that's a crime in my book.[/GREEN]
