Plz!!!!!!!!Explain the difference between versions of vb with .NET ver

Can anyone explain me the differences clearly so understand between the versions of VB prior to .NET version and itself?

Is it anyway helps us to take on the .NET version if we have knowledge of VB 5.0/6.0 versions?

Thanks in advance.

If you have prior knowledge of VB 5.0/6.0, then you should be able to adapt to VB.NET without too much trouble. The problem is that you will have to deal with the changes to Visual Basic that now makes it a full-blown Object Oriented Programming language. Microsoft has rewritten the VB language so that VB.NET is a totally Object Oriented Programming language, using Object Oriented terminology and procedures. This includes new definitions, keywords, and functions needed to make VB work like any other OOP language. Like C++ and others, it has Objects, Classes, Inheritance, Encapsulation, and Polymorphism. As with other OOP languages, VB.NET allows you to reuse Objects in multiple "project files" that may contain one or more forms. One or all of these project files may be included in the application which is now called a "Solution". The main thing to remember is that you are already familiar with VB terminology and how it works, and that VB.NET is still Visual Basic. As such, you will not have to work with the large learning curve inherent in learning C++, or Visual Basic as you would if you were just beginning to learn programming.

    Hope this helps...
