Commands won't work

ThanatosThanatos Member Posts: 19
Networking command like ping, route, netstat and so one won't work in my MS-DOS prompt. Whenever I do so it says: This Program can not be Run in DOS mode. Does anyone know why? My OS is Windows 98. If anyone may know of why this could be. Please reply. I am not sure what I could have done to do this. I was testing out commands because I was trying to learn new DOS commands. I was using stuff like echo, uhh.. break.. umm.. I dunno. I can't remember what else I did.

Either you're trying to use those programs from true DOS or you have the default PIF settings set to not allow DOS programs to recognize that they're in Windows.
