Winsock: multiple TCP/IP-Connections
Hi out there,
I wrote an Internet-Client establishing multiple connections to receive more than one stream (e.g. images and docs) at once.
Here's the problem:
For establishing a connection I have to select a port on wich I want to receive data. How can I test if a port is in use (e.g. by internet Explorer). Can I reserve ports for my application (like ".bind" in UDP)? Is there a function like getFreeTCPPort()?
I know, that MS Internet Explorer uses ports starting near 1050.
I'm currently using ports 2000+i, but this is still a workaround :(
Hope, you know more.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
