Mask edit box

Does any one know how to "clean" the control mask edit box right after any operation?
It's masked liked "#-####-####".
I do it this way maskEBox1.text ="0-0000-0000",
So it fills it with 0s but I dont want that.
I wanted it to look like this " - - ", in the form.
But It doesnt work right!

Note: I already try to fill it with blank spaces but didnt work.

    This works:
    [code]
    MaskEdBox1.Mask = ""
    MaskEdBox1.Text = ""
    MaskEdBox1.Mask = "#-####-####"
    [/code]

    This works really well and it's only one line of code:

    MaskEdBox1.Text = "_-____-_____"

    Hope it helps you,
