Duplicating entire website

prickusprickus Member Posts: 19
Please help me!

There's a previously created site that I have to modify.
So I have made a duplicate of that site in local server
(Win2K Server) for testing: downloaded all the files,
installed Apache, PHP, MySQL and copied the whole database.

The duplicate works well and PHP works too, but PHP doesn't
comunicate with MySQL database, i.e. when I mysql_connect(),
mysql_query() and mysql_fetch_row(), the script does not
output anything.

Apache runs OK, PHP syntax is OK, the database is IDENTICAL
to its predecessor (with all the data in it) and all the
GRANTS are set up properly - so what could be wrong? Is there
something else I need to do in order to have an absolutely
identical website?

I'll appreciate any opinion. Thanks.

how about the hostname for the mysql server in the php code? is it localhost or what? it is very important that it is correct you see ;-)

if that isn't the problem I need to see the files before I can say anything
