really new and i need help

i know this is a really stupid question but i am really stupid. all the langauges i know are hml, java, and some perl. i got visual basic because one of my friends said i could program with c/c++ in it but i found out that was false. my question is, what kind of program do i need to write c/c++in? i would grately appreciate it if someone would help me. thnaks.

    You only really need 'notepad' and a C and/or C++ compiler to program in those languages, but Visual C is very nice because of its syntax highlighting and built in compiler making it real easy.

    Geese man, why do you have to be so stupid?

    You can use Borland, DJGPP, Bloodshed, Turbo, MSVC...should I go on?

    All of these are free except MSVC, which you acutally can get for free using a file-sharing client. If you are very serious about C++ programming, I recommend MSVC, and if you don't want to pay for it you can email me.

    Hi,

    You could download a compiler from the Bloodshed Software or the Mingw compiler website. I have provided the weblinks below:

    http://www.bloodshed.net/
    http://www.mingw.org/

    I suggest that you download the Dev-C++ 4.9.5.0 compiler from the Bloodshed software website.
