Linux beginner

Hi all.

I am a linux beginner.

Does anyone have an idea about how to hide all the messages that appear when the system startups and shutdowns? Is this possible? Can I change the system kernel?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Boris

Why would you want to? They provide useful information.

Same question as above. But the short answer is: Sure. Edit the source files and recompile (not recommended for newbies).
