C# and MS CLR seem slow

leogodinleogodin Posts: 2Member
HI All,
I've wanted to learn an object oriented multi use language for a while.
I started learning Java but it is so slow on the Windows Platform
I switched to C#. What I've noticed is that C# and the Microsoft
CLR appear to be pretty slow also. A compiled exe that prints
Hello World! takes a couple seconds on a PIII 700 with 256 mb Ram.
Do larger programs take a long time to initialize and run compared
to C++ programs compiled into Assembly?
thanks,
Leo
