Wanted: Technical Support Engineers

Position Title: Technical Support Engineer

Location: Austin, TX


ObjectSpace Fab Solutions, a developer of innovative, productivity-enhancing software products for semiconductor manufacturers worldwide, is seeking experienced Technical Support Engineers to join its growing Austin team. The immediate positions focus on addressing questions and concerns of worldwide semiconductor manufacturing clients who use Catalyst, our Advanced Process Control (APC) software product.


Key Responsibilities

 Assisting customers in troubleshooting problems with our products via the phone, e-mail, the web, and in person

 Assisting customers in the most effective use of our product

 Logging and tracking customer incidents

 Working with the development team to resolve customer issues

 Determining problem escalation conditions and assisting others in customer account management

 Staying current in the latest approaches to worldwide, quality technical support


Required Skills

 Excellent verbal and written communication

 Strong problem solving skills

 Understanding client issues over the phone or email and ability to reproduce reported incidents

 Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and tracking reported incidents

 Answering client questions over the phone or via email concerning the proper use of our software products

 Use of incident tracking system


Desired Skills

 Use of the Internet and automation tools for facilitating worldwide technical support

 Troubleshooting software systems consisting of distributed C++ and Java components running on NT machines

 Configuration management for supporting multiple versions of a product


Required Experience

 2 years software technical support

 1 year NT or Unix system administration

 1 year script development


Desired Experience

 1 year technical support for semiconductor manufacturing software systems

 1 year Oracle database administration

 1 year Tcl script development


Personal Attributes

 Service-oriented

 Enjoys solving customer problems via the phone, email, and in-person

 Detailed and organized

 Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment


Education

 B.S. in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
