Desperately seeking Progress Programmer

Prepare Functional and Design specifications for software projects. Code applications in Progress version 8.2 4GL and the ADE. Write end user documentation and assist with Quality Assurance and Acceptance testing. Debug and enhance existing software, when necessary, working closely with end users to achieve their desired results.

Run SQL commands and prepare SQL scripts to support a Progress to Oracle database application interface. Unit test own as well as team members application software.


Responsibilities: Report to the Manager Distributed Systems . Responsible for all aspects of major software projects from design to implementation. Maintain project documentation and version control procedures. Unit test software. Maintain defect control log.


Qualifications:Must be a seasoned application developer with at least 5 years programming experience. A minimum of 2 years programming experience using Progress version and 8.1/8.2. A minimum of 1 year experience with Oracle relational databases. Progress to Oracle interface preferred. Familiar with SQL commands and scripts and have the ability to prepare new scripts when necessary. Experience with version control software Preferably Intersolv PVCS. Experience using client/Server data modeling software.

S-Designor preferred. The Ability to work in a team environment and accept lead roll responsibility, of projects, when and if necessary.


Additional experience desired would included knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting software on an Oracle client/server platform, Novell networks and Windows NT.
