Extra stuff when doing SSI with Perl

First of all, I'm a newbie at perl. I'm trying to use SSI on my webpage but I keep getting unexpected result.

Here is my html code:

-----------------------------------------

TEST

-----------------------------------------

Here is my perl code:

-----------------------------------------

print "Content-type: text/html

";

open(gbfile,"data/test.txt");

while(defined($line=)) {

print "$line";

}

close (gbfile);

-----------------------------------------

If I call the perl script directly, I "Yes I dit it" back. When I call it via SSI in my webpage, I get the following:

"HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Wed, 22 Dec 1999 07:18:56 GMT Server: Microsoft-IIS/4.0 Content-type: text/html Yes I did it "

How can I get rid of the extra heading?

Here's the url to the perl script and the html that calls the perl script:
