Removed messages still show up in search

No, You Fool

I left that post to see if things would be cleared up on their own. A complaint about it was sent to me so I decided to go ahead and delete it. I used search to find and open it and found the message that it had been removed.

I assume that removed posts shouldn't show up in search?

When you delete a message, then it is only deleted in the
database and not phyiscally on the disk, so the deleted
posts will show up in the searches because the search engine
is indexing the physical files and not the database.

But I do regulary delete the phyiscal file as well.

I have choosed this way because I wanted to be able to recover
if some moderator wen't berzerk and deleted all posts, then
I should be able to recover from that.

    I hope that's OK.

I have no problem with that (it's a great idea, actually), I was just surprised that it showed up in the search.

Perhaps there is a way to move or rename the files so they aren't found by search? Just a thought...

I will see what I can do, I could speed up the time between
deletion of the message and the deletion of the actual file.

That is, of course, entirely up to you. I could easily get used to deleted messages showing up in search (especially when I rarely use it), I was just surprised.

    Thanks for listening!
