The most efficient way to filter your recordset is to use an SQL query to retrieve only the records you want.

Following is a very quick and simple SQL tutorial.
    I hope this helps you.
    Ben

if you have a table customers with the fields
    fname varchar(15),
    lname varchar(15),
    address varchar(25),
    city varchar(25),
    province char(2),
    country varchar(20),
    postalcode varchar(6),

and you want to retrieve all records where city is Montreal you would use
select * from customers where city = 'montreal'

or if you want all customers with a last name of Smith in Montreal use

select * from customers where city='montreal' and lname=smith
